When it comes to Facebook page analysis it’s not always easy or fast, especially if you just want to have an easy overview or a quick summary of your competitors.
Yes, you have Facebook Insights with a lot of data and you can even add a competitor to your tab “pages to watch”, in your Insights. Facebook shows you the data you need, but what if you just want to quickly check a few competitors? Or you have a potential new client on the phone and just need some data – fast.
Sumorank: A Facebook page evaluator
When I work with new clients I always check their Facebook Page on Sumorank and also add a few competitors, which gives me a good and easy starting point.
It is super simple: All you need to do is to enter the page name on their Website and you get the data you need.
Once you’ve entered the page name you will get the most important date at a glance. You can see what day and times are best to post.
Next, you will get an overview of the total Interaction (likes, comments & shares) on the chosen Facebook Page for the last few months.
What category is best?
In the next part, you see what kind of content category (e.g Image, Video, Link) got the most interaction.
This information can be useful for you because it shows you what your target audience wants to see on Facebook. For a lot of Facebook pages it is video, but as you can see in this example it’s the category link. And just like that, you got a useful information for your own Facebook page.
Which day and times got the most engagement?
You can also see what days and especially what times got the most engagement. Of course, this may vary with your target audience, even if you have similar content like your competitor, but it gives you a starting.
The last part is my favorite because it shows you the most popular posts and you can simply click on them if you want to see it on Facebook. It saves you the time to scroll down the whole Facebook feed.
Sumorank is a free tool. After you entered a few pages the tool will tell you that you have used your daily limit, but you can then simply login with you Facebook profile and continue stalking your competitors.
I use Sumorank even to quickly check my own Facebook ranking.
